Responsibilities Work closely with office staff and management to compile and summarize broad statistical information for use in developing internal reports, funding proposals, and external communications to various stakeholders such as City Council, and our constituents. Liaise with experts in the fields of civil/real estate, mathematics, and computer science on data projects relating to policing, indigent defense, and criminal justice. Collect, interpret, and analyze internal and external data to inform policy decisions and public commentary on law enforcement operations. Identify shortcomings in available datasets and develop collaborative collection methods to respond to long-term Policy and other unit needs relating to caseload, workflow, and client outcomes. Liaise between legal staff and IT department to ensure precise and accurate communication of data needs and availability. Provide statistical commentary on external reports and publications to ensure proper interpretation.
