Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Vice President of Business Solutions and Data is responsible for partnering closely with all business stakeholders to deliver and support effective, efficient, and scalable solutions. The individual is responsible for providing oversight and direction for business solutions and effectively managing third party partnerships. This individual will be responsible for managing internal and external teams and will identify opportunities to support their professional development. The ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise in E&P application management and data management & analytics. He or she will have experience working closely with business partners for continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILIITES:

  • Provide technical leadership with focus on application and process innovation. Build business cases for new technologies and tools to improve products and end user experience.
  • Establish cross-functional steering committee to ensure alignment with business partners on technology priorities and resource utilization.
  • Ensure project deliverables are created by our 3rd party implementation vendors (requirements, designs, test plans, etc.)
  • Establish the data governance and ensure the alignment of master data across the organization.
  • Set the data standards, define quality metrics, and establish continuous improvement.
  • Champion a company-wide data warehouse and analytical program.
  • Provide architecture, interface documentation, data flows, and asset documentation as needed to support the applications.
  • Provide input in buildout of department capital and operating budgets.
  • Ensure systems and processes achieve system and organizational controls (SOC 1) objectives and follow an Agile software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance (Q/A) practices.
  • Manage third party vendor relationships to achieve business objectives and meet expected SLAs with high quality including quarterly business reviews.
  • Partner closely with information security and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal application performance and security.
  • Develop and report key performance indicators for internal systems and manage third party.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or Information Management, Engineering, Earth Science, or other related discipline required.
  • 20+ years of experience in an IT role within the oil and gas upstream industry, as well as 10+ years of IT leadership experience.
  • 7+ years experience with Enertia or similar ERP
  • Demonstrated deep experience leading and / or managing Application. Applications include ERP Systems (Enertia experience preferred), E&P (e.g. Wellview, TIES, Aries) and GIS applications.
  • Strong understanding and experience in Data Management (i.e. structured, unstructured, spatial, real-time) and Governance.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with data warehouse, integration and analytical solutions (e.g. Azure data warehouse, SSAS, Informatica, Snowflake, Spotfire and PowerBI)
  • Understanding and experience in IT control framework and compliance.
  • Understanding and experience in managing relationships with multiple vendors, technologies, and customers. Experience negotiating third party hosting and support agreements for business-critical applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong sense of creativity and the ability to adapt easily.
  • Ability to discuss complex principles and issues to both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • This position requires comprehensive technical, communication, and management skills and ability to oversee daily IT operations and ensure that performance requirements are met.
  • This job includes frequent interaction with a wide range of personnel, which requires excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Requires excellent program and project management skills (eg, estimating, work planning, project reporting and tracking, issue management).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a dynamic team.
  • Capable of prioritizing, managing, and completing multiple tasks within a given time frame/
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into practical action.
  • Capability of communicating a vision and strategy that gives staff direction and focuses their efforts.
  • Experience implementing and managing SLAs to ensure quality delivery of SaaS and hosted applications.
