Job Summary: The Vice President of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee Production, Shipping, Procurement, and IT department activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient processes and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Provide the day-to-day leadership and management for the Production, Shipping, Procurement, and IT departments of the business
- Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the company’s Production, Shipping, Procurement and IT departments
- Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance to areas of supervision
- Create and implement KPIs for each area of supervision, monitor the productivity and capacity of each area, and provide timely reports on the ongoing progress
- Ensure sourcing needs of the company are sound by evaluating costs and continually looking for new sources
- Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the company’s goals and objectives
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline areas of supervision
- Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the company’s business plan and vision
- Responsible for budgeting and forecasting of areas of supervision
- Motivate and lead a high-performance management team by providing mentoring as a cornerstone
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company
- Represent the company with clients, investors, and business partners, as necessary
- Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in areas of oversight
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Experience analyzing operations, researching comparables and making business recommendations.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Strategic thinker that is results driven.
- Strong verbal, analytical, organizational, and written skills.
- Detail oriented with ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand at a computer for extended periods of time
- Must be able to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to withstand strain and stress from the pressures of deadlines
Day/Hour Requirements:
- Must be able to work a flexible fulltime schedule including nights and weekends.
- Travel up to 10% of the time for vendor meetings, tradeshows, and to visit the KC DC
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors’ Degree in business or related field required
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role required
- Experience sourcing dietary supplement raw ingredients required
