Job Description:

A Vendor Management Consultant is responsible for overseeing and managing the relationships between an organization and its suppliers, contractors, and other external service providers. A typical job description for a Vendor Management Consultant might include the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct supplier risk assessments and monitor vendor performance to ensure they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers and service providers to resolve any issues, provide feedback, and ensure that their performance meets expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and resolve vendor-related issues and ensure that suppliers and service providers are delivering according to agreed-upon terms and conditions.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in vendor management and make recommendations for improvements to the organization's vendor management processes and strategies.
  • The ideal candidate for a Vendor Management Consultant position should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience in procurement, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Work with redlines and ensuring version control of assigned agreements.
  • Customize and modify existing contract language.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required

Required Qualifications

  • 5+years of experience with contracts, healthcare, or insurance.
  • Experience dealing with IT Services contracts that span Application Development, Maintenance, and Infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with IT Services contract types including outcome based, managed services, time and materials, core-flex, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Contract support or contract interpretation experience
  • Experience working in an IT outsourcing environment
