Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, one of the nations oldest and most frequented historical public gardens, has a plethora of Corporate Events, VIP/Private Events, Group Tours,Weddings, and Youth Programs available to the public. Due to growth within the organization, we are looking for a Venue Sales Manager to support our guests and community by: creating and cultivating relationships, asking questions to gain a deep understanding of the experience theyre looking to have, showcasing the programs and venues Magnolia has to offer to deliver those experiences, mapping out their itinerary, and securing dates/tickets.

What you will be doing:

  • Drive a positive, immersive guest experience that results in high customer loyalty and satisfaction
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales + Marketing to establish sales objectives, key results, and action plans; analyze data and trends to project expected sales volume; meet regularly with the MLT to report on progress and adjust course as needed
  • Create and maintain relationships within the community through outreach and networking; utilize an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Magnolias history, land, and tourist attractions to connect and meet customer requests; manage contacts in the CRM, contracts, and pre- and post-event activities
  • Manage all bookings for events and liaise with the clients to determine requirements, such as event insurance, recommend event planners and ensure sufficient event support staff
  • Meet or exceed predetermined sales goals by negotiating all contracts with prospective clients
  • Manage all venue rental administrative tasks such as preparing venue hire packages, insurance, booking schedules and invoicing
  • Communicate and enforce all venue safety and security protocols to include access control of all incoming and outgoing event traffic, manage departments designated phone, etc.
  • Create and maintain relationships with tour vendors, map out group tour itineraries, work closely with the Events & Tour Teams to ensure the best guest experience possible from start of their visit to finish; supports the our teams with answering guest and vendor questions and resolving problems as needed
  • Meet with the Marketing, Events, and Tour teams to debrief events, share feedback, make improvements to process/policy/programs as needed
  • Represent MPC at networking events in Charleston and beyond, as needed
  • Represent a team-player spirit when assigned other duties and projects as required

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years experience in a Sales role, preferably in the Tourism/Events space, and have experience with creating sales goals and action plans to achieve them
  • You are passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences and love the fast pace and autonomy that a Sales-related position provides
  • Youre goal-oriented and are driven and motivated by purpose. You use critical thinking and assessment skills to achieve your goals, by mapping out milestones and adjusting your process to be as effective as possible
  • Youve been trained in different sales methodologies and have found that Relationship Selling is your preferred method of selling; youre a relationship builder with a high EQ; youre authentic, patient, and have the ability to connect with a wide variety of people on a personal level
  • You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Tripleseat, Canva, G-Suite, Stripe, Squarespace and Meta Business Suite is preferred
  • Due to the nature of the events/wedding industry this position may require long-days and/or work on the weekends as needed.
