Reproduction-focused, small ruminant seedstock business looking for a veterinarian (DVM) as part of a plan to expand its assisted reproduction services to clients through their state-of-the-art Reproduction Center.

Job Responsibilities:

• Herd Health
  
  
  
  • Design and execute Herd Health Protocol (e.g. testing/vaccination plan)
  
  
  • Daily herd monitoring and diagnosis
  
  
  • Daily clinical case management
  
  
  • Farm biosecurity, quarantine and testing of new arrivals
  
  
  
  


• Herd Nutrition
  
  
  
  • Work with feed companies and nutritionist to develop efficient herd feeding program
  
  
  • Develop diets aimed at maximizing herd’s reproductive performance
  
  
  
  


• Assisted Reproduction
  
  
  
  • Oversee, perform, or assist with different ARTs including Laparoscopic Artificial Insemination, IVF, Embryo Transfer, and Semen Freezing
  
  
  
  


• General Management
  
  
  
  • Collaborate or conduct general management tasks including keeping animal inventories, data recording, ordering supplies, manage farm employees, training of new employees, general farm oversight, etc.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)


• Professional License to practice in Iowa. Willing to seek license in other states if needed.


• Fluent in English (verbal and writing). Ability to communicate in Spanish is a bonus.
