Arena Investors, LP is a global investment management firm that seeks to generate attractive risk adjusted, consistent and uncorrelated returns by employing a fundamentals based, asset-oriented financing and investing strategy across the entire credit spectrum in areas where conventional sources of capital are scarce.

Arena is looking to expand the Operations Team through the addition of a senior manager within the Private Credit Operations Team. In this role, this individual will be exposed to each step in the origination life cycle of private and syndicated loans and other structured financing arrangements. The candidate will be charged with day-to-day management of key performance metrics associated with all private credit lifecycle events. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work effectively with all internal functional groups and upper management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work directly with existing senior managers to manage the internal and external loan operations team through the full life cycle of loan originations and other credit-based investments:
    • Pre-deal closing assessment with Front and Mid Office for deal workflow.
    • Loan documentation review, investment allocations, treasury, and structuring review to ensure proper settlement and closing of new deals.
    • Administration and management of investments including borrower communication, cash monitoring, trade and accrual bookings, loan and interest statements, and reconciliations.
    • Amendment, restructuring, and payoff/settlement processing.
    • Full daily and monthly reconciliation process in connection with Fund NAV review.
  • Review daily position, cash, and accrual reconciliations from the Fund Administrator.
  • Establish a global KPI (key performance indicator) framework.
    • Perform daily review and analysis of KPIs, with consistent focus on measurements versus prior period performance.
  • Collaborate with senior managers to deliver, monitor and communicate progress towards group level goals including efficiency initiatives and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with technology development team and help solve core problems or capitalize on enhancement opportunities within business processes.
  • Provide oversight and a point of escalation for staff on issues encountered within existing workflows.
  • Oversee and sponsor strategic business initiatives from idea generation to implementation.
  • Work with upper management to establish a global operating model to ensure proper resourcing of expected firm expansion.
  • Serve as the Private Credit Operations Team point of contact for various functional groups Marketing, Compliance, and Asset Management and Fund Accounting.

Requirements

The individual will have demonstrated an ability to work in fast-paced, performance-driven environment with an ability to think broadly about the business, incorporating continual improvement of processes and procedures with a goal of excellence while focusing on accuracy and efficiency.

  • Bachelors degree from a top university, ideally in a quantitative area (e.g., finance, economics, accounting).
  • 15+ years of direct experience in management, private credit agency and/or administration at a securities or investment firm.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio aptitude.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Private credit experience and familiarity with various financial instruments across industries
  • End-to-end financing experience including structuring, closing and post funding administration.
  • Wall Street Office (WSO), Loan IQ or equivalent system experience a plus.
  • The highest level of personal integrity and ethical standards.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic and a desire to work collaboratively across the organization.
  • Ability to communicate at a high level.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be willing to travel to our Jacksonville office location
