The Home Edit is looking for an enthusiastic Full-Time Freelance Video Editor with motion graphics and social media experience to support our social and branded video content within our Editorial team.

Reporting to the Social Media Director, you will work with the entire department, including the Social Media leads, Content Team, and Marketing Team as well as work cross-functionally with the Brand Partnerships team. The ideal candidate must know how to tell a great story, share our passion for female storytelling, and have a fast turnaround on projects and be able to excel under deadlines.

This position will be freelance and have the opportunity to work on projects with some of our high-profile clients in the entertainment industry, as well as notable brands in a multitude of categories.

THE ROLE

  • Develop, assemble and organize projects
  • Manage and execute video edits and iteration requests
  • Edit thumb-stopping social-first content and engaging branded content that meets the needs of digital and social media campaigns
  • Work collaboratively with all teammates, stakeholders and clients
  • Follow project specific process and timelines
  • Deliver edits and projects on-time and to spec while always pushing the envelope on creativity and execution
  • Stay in sync with stakeholders on approvals and feedback throughout production process
  • Export final projects of a variety of different spec requirements while maintaining QC of final products
  • Keep server and projects organized upon completion
  • Experiment with styles and techniques, including the design and integration of graphic elements
  • Suggest and select music
  • In-the-box color and audio mix as needed
  • Provide any insight or support regarding AV content relevant to shoots, pitches and campaigns
  • Attend and contribute meaningfully to weekly departmental meetings and brainstorms
  • Adept in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Capcut

THE SKILLS

  • Youre passionate about storytelling and full of ideas
  • Youre a strong editor capable of articulating an engaging story
  • Youre capable of a range of edit styles, from comedic to dramatic
  • You have an eye for picture / design and an ear for audio / music
  • Youre great with graphics, lower thirds and putting that added touch on your work
  • Youre self-motivated and nimble
  • Youre in the know, always having your finger on the pulse of culture and trends
  • Youre multi-dimensional and always learning
  • You can prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • You maintain close attention to detail
  • Youre positive, solution-oriented and flexible

Requirements

  • Fluent in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Capcut
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as an Editor or Preditor
  • Ability to work on site
  • Experience creating viral social media video content across social platforms
  • Experience creating branded content
  • Digital media file management
  • A strong sense of story and rhythm, color grading, music and audio
  • Must demonstrate sophisticated aesthetic, technical skill, and knowledge of current media trends
  • Experienced in graphics, in-the-box color and sound
  • Experienced in delivery / preparation of files for out-of-house color and sound
  • Excellent organization, written and communication skills, especially able to convey clear and articulate feedback
