The Common Market is a nonprofit regional food distributor with a mission to connect urban communities with local food from sustainable family farms. The Warehouse Associate with Forklift Experience will assist with the day-to-day operations in our [insert location] warehouse. This would include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and managing and organizing stock in the warehouse. The Warehouse Associate will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized warehouse. This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts(Stand-up forklift) safely and responsibly to move inventory in the warehouse
• Receive and process incoming materials, verifying quantities against purchase orders
• Pull and pack orders accurately and efficiently to ensure timely distribution
• Check and verify orders before they are shipped
• Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse, ensuring that all items are properly labeled and stored
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized warehouse
• Assist with other duties as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Forklift certification and a minimum of two years of recent forklift experience
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and hand trucks
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
