You can connect to me on my email ************* or my number 206-614-0112 Title: Warehouse Shipping Clerk Location: Boulder, CO Role: 6+ months Work hours: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Role Summary/Purpose - The Shipping Clerk, as part of the Analytical Instruments business, will be responsible for moving, loading and unloading materials by hand or through using a variety of material handling equipment.
- The Shipping / Receiving personnel places material/parts on the proper shelf or area in the shop, packages them, and places them on a delivery truck.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities: As the Shipping Clerk, you will: - Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
- Input all shipment information into ERP computer system
- Compare identifying information and counts, weights or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Determine method of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates
- Make carrier arrangements, when necessary
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or markings identifying shipping information on cartons
- Assemble wooden, cardboard containers, or select preassembled containers
- Insert items into containers - using spacers, fillers and protective padding
- Nail covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape and using strapping machine
- Package materials in boxes of varying sizes and ensure closure by tape or strapping.
- Prepare pallets for storage or shipment using stretch wrapping process
- Post weights and shipping charges, affix postage
- Participate in physical inventories and inventory reconciliation exercises to meet overall inventory accuracy goals
- Route items to various internal departments and production areas for manufacturing projects
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Operate pallet stacker, pallet jack, hand-truck, forklift or cart to move shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Perform Dangerous Goods receiving and shipping under DOT and IATA regulations.
- Perform all activities while complying with Environmental, Health and Safety rules.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by management to meet business needs.
Qualifications/Requirement - High School Diploma / GED
Skills and Abilities - Prior work experience in warehousing, material handling, or shipping
- Pallet Stacker or forklift certification
- Prior production and inventory control experience
- Familiarity with SAP systems
- Calculate surface, volumes, weights and dimensions of packaged equipment or components
- Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures and practices.
- Ability to make decision with regards to completion of tasks/job methods, and follow through with results of outcome
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to interact and communicate with internal customers including production, engineers, and management personnel
- Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals
- Ability to independently arrange and organize work efforts on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to multitask on a consistent basis
- Ability to make recommendations regarding job methods and departmental procedures
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form
