Job Title: Website Developer (Hybrid Onsite - Locals preferred)
Location: Hartford, CT
Duration: 12 Months
Client: State of Connecticut
Pay rate: $60/hr
Note: In office required with 80% telecommuting possible. Open to US Citizens or Permanent Residents only.

Job description:
The agency needs the service of a mid to senior level System Administrator to work in the Application Support Team responsible for supporting the agency's CCWIS system and a number of other websites. The candidate will be a part of the Application Support team with experience in IIS web server support and maintenance. The Systems Administrator is responsible for the operation and support of enterprise software applications and the related infrastructure. This candidate will require minimal supervision and will work independently. The candidate ensures that software systems adhere to organizational standards and goals and will serve as an escalation point for Application Support, Development and Business teams.

Specific Services Required:

  1. Perform management of IIS web server support and maintenance.
  2. Perform website deployment and implementation and monitor web performance, track user metrics, application administration, site operations, security monitoring and system health checks.
  3. Collaborate with technical teams to assist with upgrades in application, networking, and hosting websites.
  4. Coordinate with multiple teams and manage incident responses. Take ownership of system issues, support requests, projects and improvement tasks with minimal supervision.
  5. Work as a part of the Application Support team, mentor and train junior team members.
  6. Work with vendors, support providers and business clients as needed in support of these web applications.
  7. Assist with systems compliance, systems security and data privacy initiatives.
  8. Work with other team members collaboratively to support related systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, PowerBI and BizTalk.
  9. Work as part of a team to design, implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  10. Work with application development and System Integrators to understand the design of the core technology and architecture of systems being developed and use that information to identify and implement any required changes to the Salesforce environment to support those systems efficiently and effectively.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. In depth knowledge of IIS Manager, IIS architecture, SQL Server 2016 or newer, Windows Server 2016 or newer.
  2. In depth knowledge of SQL, XML and FetchXML.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2017,2019 integrated development environments, including development, debugging and deployment.
  4. Support dynamic client-facing portal pages using traditional ASP.NET, XML, HTML, DHTML and style sheets (CSS) and presentation and application layers using WSA, SOAP, and JSON based protocols.
  5. Solid knowledge of enterprise networking such as DNS, TCP/IP, FTP, DMZ, Active Directory, SSL/TLS.
  6. Knowledge of resources and practices in the security community is a plus.
  7. Attention to detail maintaining system configurations and documentation.
