The role of the youth NFL Flag coach will be to serve as the primary point of contact for each of the players, parents, and staff while working in the 2023 summer at one of our camp sites. Duties include, but are not limited to: planning and maintaining a practice plan, ensuring that there is alignment with the program vision, keeping the campers motivated and striving to retain as many campers on a daily basis until the end of camp. Prior flag football coaching experience is not required, but familiarity and comfort-ability working with children is a must.
Prospective Schedule:
Weekdays from 11:30am to 4:00pm starting in mid June
Weekdays from 8:00am to 3:00pm starting in mid June
Various pre-camp training session TBD.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Applicants must pass Act 33, Act 34 and other relevant clearances.
- 18yrs or older with reliable transportation.
- Excellent oral communication skills with a passion for working with children.
- Be able to collaborate and consistently perform as a team player.
- Display an ability to not just be a coach, but to be an educator of the sport of flag football.
- Must complete the online NFL Flag Certification course.
Essential Job Functions:
- Adhere to the weekly coaching curriculum provided by the Pittsburgh Flag Football League.
- Approach each day as an opportunity to educate children while having fun and competing.
- Arrive to the assigned site on-time and prepared to coach the sport of flag football.
- Treat all campers, parents and camp site staff with respect.
- Have a willingness to create and implement an effective system of communication with campers.
- Create an environment that is high energy, motivating and inclusive.
- Assisting campers to problem solve and independently work together.
- Strive to meet a goal of 90% camper retention.
Benefits
Salary:
Stipend ranging between $1,200 - $1,450 based upon experience and paid in two installments.
Pittsburgh Flag Football League
