JOB DESCRIPTION:-

Position's Contributions to Work Group:-

The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.

Typical Day:-

  • Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
  • Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.

Education Requirements: -

Bachelor's degree in engineering field plus 2-4 years experience.

- or Master's degree in engineering plus 1-2 years experience.

- or Associate's degree plus 5-7 years experience

Technical Skills:-

Required:-

  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering fields, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Desired:-
  • Candidates should have knowledge about electrical components such as connectors, wires, lugs, heat shrinks, charge ports etc.
  • Design of Wire Harness assembly tooling including the layout of the pins, wires and connectors on the assembly board; wire harness assembly including crimping, taping and testing.
  • Functional understanding of harness and cable manufacturing tooling knowledge such as crimping tool, vacuum testing, Hi Pot test, electrical continuity test, etc.
  • Cable Manufacturing including Insulation, Shielding, Jacketing and Testing. Highly desired: Direct experience with High Voltage cable tooling (such as Schafer or Daniels Manufacturing) for extrusion to apply the insulation and jacketing, shielding and crimping tooling to join cables and shields.
  • Familiarity with industrial connectors such as Hirschmann, TE, Amphenol etc. Familiarity with regulatory requirements for Electrical components.

Soft Skills:- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. Team player and detail oriented.
