DISYS is currently seeking a Data Analyst to be a part of an Agile and high-performance Metrics, Analytics and Reporting Team (MART) at a foremost Healthcare IT Solutions Group located in Oakland, California.

Join a small and highly motivated team that studies and analyzes user engagement with customer facing applications. The MART is increasing the team size and builds a data-driven strategy for decision-making. In addition to looking at historic usage trends, there is a move towards predicting how users will interact with their products.

The ideal candidate is a great team player, has experience in working with patient health data, is experienced with data querying and data visualization tools, and is familiar with a multitude of technologies. The Data Analyst should also have excellent analytical skills and extensive experience writing SQL queries and creating ad-hoc reports.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of medical terminology used in patient electronic medical records.
• Experience in handling and sharing protected health information.
• Well-versed in querying and analyzing data.
• Experience in developing Tableau reports.
• Clear understanding of logical and physical database design and data.
• Sound database skills (MySQL, SQL Server) and ability to write, optimize, and tune complex SQL scripts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team with diverse backgrounds, and willingness to share knowledge with other team members.

Responsibilities:

• Read and review patient information in secure messages and assess basic medical conditions/concerns.
• Make recommendations regarding label assignment to secure messages based on message text.
• Translate analytical insights into clear recommendations, i.e., identify trends and patterns to inform business decisions and product design.
• Leverage SQL to query complex data.
• Design and develop customized interactive reports and dashboards in Tableau and schedule in Tableau Server.
• Develop creative ways to identify and use data that significantly impact key business metrics.
• Assess the potential usefulness and validity of new data sources.
• Mentor other team members/analysts to grow their skills and careers.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Health Education, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience and a proven track record in solving business problems using data and scientific analytics.
• Experience in working with Python and ML algorithms (nice to have!)
