The Opportunity and Position SummaryThe Rewiring America team continues to grow, which means were consistently growing our creative and communications offerings to educate and inspire people on their electrification journeys! We need to ensure the complexities of electrification are both digestible and deeply compelling to everyday Americans. Thats where you come in. We are seeking a passionate and resourceful designer to directly support the Communications team at large to act as the conduit in bringing our data, policy, and big ideas to Rewiring Americas vast constituents. We are constantly expanding our reach within the private and public sectors, which is accelerating demand for engaging and action-oriented content. Were looking for a curious creative, someone who loves distilling complex messages into compelling creative, across every type of channel and form. This position will be responsible for supporting creative execution across the Communications team. From helping to shape internal creative to maintaining brand voice to designing for stakeholders and campaigns, the designer will play an essential role in our creative output. Were looking for a generalist who thrives on variety and loves bringing varied ideas to brilliant fruition across an area of media. The ideal candidate will also have an intuition for content and strategy, and be a helpful voice in the strategy and messaging behind our design, offering helpful counsel across team and organization. This position reports to the Creative Director of the Communications and Brand team.
What Youll doComplete a variety of project management activities, including but not limited to: - Lead the creation of content from ideation to delivery, with guidance from our Creative Director.
- Partner with team members on content planning and execution, ideating everything from social graphics to campaigns.
- Create everything from print to web, internal to public-facing, data visualization to editorial, and policy to campaign design.
- Build and maintain decks and presentation materials, helping team members refine and dazzle.
- Maintain design libraries and assets.
- Tighten and strengthen our brand, ensuring its unity and polish across all creative outputs.
Requirements Who You AreYou will have most of the following education, experience, knowledge, skills, and ability. We encourage you to apply even if you dont fit all of the criteria: - Strong commitment to the mission, policies, and goals of Rewiring America.
- At least 3 years of increasing responsibility in graphic design and content creation, either at an agency, or in house.
- Strong portfolio or work samples.
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite and strong (or good or working) Figma knowledge, data visualization, motion graphics, video editing software, and other key programs, with a desire to always learn new tools, and keep abreast of latest trends.
- Advanced typography and graphic design skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think quickly and creatively.
- Understanding of design principles and the application of brand guidelines.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
- Illustration skills are a bonus.
- Ability to collaborate with a growing team with competing demands with speed, excellence, and good humor.

Compensation The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits Our comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 160 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also provided with two additional days off during Presidential and Congressional elections. We have an office closure between Christmas and New Year. Regular, full-time employees and part-time employees are eligible for up to sixteen weeks of paid family and medical leave on day one of employment. We offer access to professional development resources.
