Hybrid/ Remote Python and Big Data Developer 3 Day on-site 2 days remote Denver, Colorado We are seeking a Python and Big Data Developer with experience in PySpark, SQL and large data sets. The Python and Big Data Developer will design, implement, and support data applications and supporting infrastructure, and will participate in the identification of strategic areas of development of the data platforms and functionality. They will collaborate with senior data engineering team members. The position requires regular on-site presence in Denver, Colorado. Responsibilities: - Build, analyze and present actionable data to drive marketing, business development, and product management decisions.
- Design, implement, and support solutions to automate and aggregate large-scale data flows from varying sources.
- Collaborate with data analysts and system engineers to construct complex data sources.
- Continually improve reporting and analysis processes through automation and enhancement to self-service support services for customers.
- Design, operate, and improve the data warehouse infrastructure.
- Analyze and improve existing support processes and update documentation.
- Identify and implement automation for administrative tasks.
- Provide technical solutions for alerts and escalated tickets from our customers including root cause assessment.
- Contribute to process definitions for Issue Management and Change Management.
Requirements - Knowledge of PySpark.
- Experience with large data sets.
- Knowledge of advanced SQL concepts like indexing, unions, table structure, scans, read safety, etc. as applied to large data sets.
- Knowledge of batch and streaming data architectures.
- Ability to communicate with users, technical teams, and leadership regarding requirements, data modelling, and solution approach strategies.
- Experience working in a distributed, internet-scale Linux environment.
- Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Skills: - Experience in cellular and or cable or telecommunications field with an understanding of the technologies, processes, and principles of these industries.
- Knowledge of systems administration, scripting and build automation tools, and a thorough understanding of the TCP/IP stack and the Linux environment.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and technologies.
