Title: QA Tester - Automation, Mainframe Transformation The primary work location(s) will be at Work from Home I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES ADA, Informatica, mainframe, Legacy open systems/Java, .NET, Oracle, MS SQL Railroad Commission of Texas requires the services of two (2) Quality Assurance (QA) Automation testers, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of QA Engineer Automated Level 3, and the specifications outlined in this document for the Railroad Commission of Texas. All work products resulting from the project shall be considered "works made for hire" and are the property of the Railroad Commission of Texas and may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Candidates) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. Railroad Commission of Texas will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Candidate(s The Worker will apply their expert knowledge of QA Automation testing in the RRC agency technology applications (ADA, Informatica, mainframe, Legacy open systems/Java, .NET, Oracle, MS SQL, etc to support the needs of internal Mainframe Transformation project teams. Major responsibilities include developing and maintaining test automation scripts, ensuring that the software is tested in a consistent and efficient manner, building, and execute the test automation strategy for Mainframe Transformation project. Implement best practices in the quality automation area. Understand the business problems being solved and apply strong automation culture in the project, excellent technical experience and a strong quality and automation mindset to shape the test automation in the Mainframe Transformation Project. Duties involve use of multiple methods for manual and automated integration, system, and regression testing transactional database applications, including Informatica code and bridging; data reporting systems; legacy mainframe applications; and testing of applications written in Java and .NET. Work also may involve analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to identify improvements to automate processing or to improve existing systems. The QA Automation tester position may be assigned additional related essential tasks as required to maintain internal and contract-related deadlines. II. TERMS OF SERVICE Services are expected to start 07/10/2023 and are expected to be completed by 8/31/2022. Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 320 hours. This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing, which will be determined in July or August of 2023 based on RRC funding availability for the next fiscal year. II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Requirements: Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity. Years Required/Preferred Experience 8 Required Skill/understanding of Smoke Testing, Regression testing, Black box testing, white box testing, and manual and automation testing. Experience must demonstrate advanced-level use of SQL queries and PL SQL programs. 8 Required Knowledge of Software Quality Assurance or Software Engineering Methodologies. 8 Required Writing, revising, and verifying quality standards and test procedures (including test plans and test cases 8 Required Reviewing and interpreting business requirements and design specifications and translating them into test procedures. 8 Required Understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC 8 Required Good communication skills (interpersonal, listening, written and oral), be self-motivated, organized, thorough, and efficient. 5 Required Automation Testing, Selenium, Java/J2EE (link removed) 5 Required Knowledge of Cucumber framework. 4 Required Skill with application testing using SQL, PL SQL. 2 Required Skill with testing of applications designed in Java, and .NET. 2 Required Ability to test Web applications; familiar with Cloud and Software-As-A-Service (SAAS) concepts. 6 Preferred Generating SQL queries and using other data interrogation methods. 4 Preferred Skill with developing Web application testing automation using Java and Selenium, or similar. 4 Preferred Familiarity with database queries and the ability to create input data and verify data updates. 4 Preferred Experience in ADA planning and testing. 4 Preferred Familiarity with Informatica and Change Data Capture (CDC) planning and testing. 4 Preferred Understanding of Microsoft, Java, and n-tier web technologies. 4 Preferred Skill with current web technologies and testing of web applications. 4 Preferred Experience in functional testing, performance testing, and load and stress testing. 1 Preferred Skill with Mainframe application testing (one or more of COBOL, JCL, CICS), Informatica, and Mulesoft. 1 Preferred Experience in Oil and Gas industry as well as general compliance and enforcement related projects. 1 Preferred Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
