Quick Overview:

  • Will be changing filters, using a forklift daily, heavy lifting at times up to 70lbs. Will be standing for long periods. Bend, stoop, walk, kneel, crouch, carry and climb in crawl spaces and on roofs at times. Use hands and/or arms to finger, handle, feel and reach.
  • PURPOSE To safely, expeditiously, and efficiently install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production machinery and equipment, and other designated facility assets to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. To use a total predictive/productive maintenance (TPM) system approach.

Responsibilities

  • Assist other Maintenance Technicians install and maintain production machinery and other plant equipment.
  • Assist other Maintenance Technicians perform emergency/unscheduled repairs. Perform scheduled repair, machine service and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Use basic machinist skills and other hand tools of the trade to fabricate parts, not commercially available.
  • Use basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic system skills, as required, to perform troubleshooting, diagnostic, adjustment and repair tasks.
  • Read, interpret and follow equipment manuals and work orders to perform required tasks. Install, repair and maintain communication and power distribution cables, and splice, as required.
  • Respond to Maintenance Service Requests, to include HVAC equipment, and assist other Maintenance Technicians to complete necessary adjustments and repairs. Document work orders using eMaint program.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry tasks, as required.
  • Record and maintain required documentation. Maintain a safe and clean environment in and around the Maintenance Shop, and in areas where maintenance tasks are performed. Follow the 5S and TPM systems. TOOLS Forklift/manlift/boomlift.
  • Pneumatic hand tools.
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical hand tools. Lathe and mill machines.

Qualifications

  • The minimum qualifications required include, but may not be limited to, the following: At least, 1 years experience in a manufacturing machinery maintenance environment. Knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery and the tools, gauges, meters and diagnostic equipment used in that environment.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment, preferred. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Proficient knowledge of blueprints, required. Ability to work, both, independently and in a team environment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Forklift operation, ability to pass an in-house certification and clean driving record, a plus.

Education And/Or Experience

  • High School Diploma and/or GED. Related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

  • Must meet the physical demands for the position including, but not limited to, the ability to: Stand for long periods. Bend, stoop, walk, kneel, crouch, carry and climb. Use hands and/or arms to finger, handle, feel and reach. Talk and hear. Frequently, lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Work from elevated platforms, ladders and/or manlifts.
  • Use specific vision faculties which include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • If the duties are required to be performed in the Vessel shop areas, the employee may be exposed to harmful light emitted by welding machinery and flying metal particles.
