This position is located at Wheeling Longwall and Rebuild in Wheeling, WV(link removed)> We are seeking hard working, motivated individuals. ACNR, Inc. requires trained, dedicated, and skilled mechanical, electrical, welding, and fabrication technicians to operate safe, productive, and efficient repair shops.

The goal of this program is to develop and grow these technicians. To provide them with a starting point for a successful career in the mining repair industry.

Pay Type: Hourly

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Be trained to repair and rebuild mining equipment
  • Trained in all aspects of the repair and rebuild process including but not limited to: electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems of the equipment
  • Heavy focus will be placed on welding, cutting, and fabrication skill development
  • Industrial hands on environment (expect dirt and grease)
  • Performing tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Will work under experienced maintenance technicians to gain necessary experience to become a shop technician
  • Limited classroom training may be offered to enhance the learning process
  • Working safely in all areas
  • Upon program completion you will be a trained ACNR repair shop technician

Experience

  • No formal experienced necessary
  • Training or background in mechanical, electrical, welding or fabrication, preferred but not required

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Trade school certifications or any form of advanced education allow for a possible higher starting salary
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid drivers license
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Compliance with company policies, procedures and safety standard
  • MSHA Certification (training available if needed)
  • 90-day formal evaluations
  • Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
  • Must be able to successfully complete industry approved training courses
  • Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Program duration minimum of 1 year
  • Must be able to work 89-hour workdays Monday Friday with possible overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicants religious practices)
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule on a 24/7 basis (subject to the applicants religious practices)
  • Ability/willingness to work different shifts when assigned
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere when needed
  • Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed
