Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Human Resources Senior Director, will be responsible for leading the HR function at A2. The successful candidate will partner with other organizational leaders to develop people strategies that drive the performance of the company and ensure we maintain our spirit of innovation as we continue to grow. You will be a member of the A2 Senior Management Team and play a key role in leading the organization through its next growth phase as we bring our innovative pipeline of therapies to patients.

This position is located at our Agoura Hills, CA location with the option for hybrid working.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, and continue to evolve, strong talent management processes to ensure A2 has the people and capabilities to deliver its business strategy:
    • Ensure A2 has strong succession plans in place for critical roles.
    • Oversee A2s performance management systems and process (goal setting, feedback, performance reviews).
    • Identify future capabilities and associated workforce plans. Implement strategies to build a strong talent pipeline for the future.
    • Coach, mentor and support colleagues to identify individual strengths and development needs, develop and maintain effective relationships and encourage retention.
  • Deploy organizational development strategies to maintain a performance and innovation focused culture in line with A2s values:
    • Lead A2s learning and development efforts - focused on developing the next generation of leaders at the company and early career talent.
    • Ensure A2s total reward programs remain competitive and support corporate strategy.
    • Provide ongoing coaching to leaders to enable them to effectively lead the company.
    • Foster an environment where the organization can continue to operate with discipline, fluidity and connectivity. Maintaining our focus on our strategy and goals while providing our staff with opportunities to develop in new areas (including enabling and encouraging the movement of talent across the organization).
  • Lead ongoing efforts to ensure our culture and values are lived across the whole company as we continue to grow.
  • Continue to build & embed HR programs and operations needed to support A2s growth plans over the next 3+ years.
  • Partner with the leadership team to develop and implement HR plans and solutions to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide daily strategic support to the organization in technical areas of expertise, including; staff coaching, employee relations, compensation & benefits, diversity, recruiting, performance management etc.
  • Actively monitor engagement at the organization level and devise approaches to measure and drive staff engagement.
  • Monitor and ensure the organizations compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
  • Build A2s employment brand externally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of relevant human resources experience
  • Experience as a HR business partner supporting senior management
  • Extensive experience in an additional technical area of HR (e.g. compensation, benefits, learning & development or recruiting)
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability and passion to work in demanding, dynamic, fluid, and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and manage others, even if not direct reports/formal authority
  • Sound judgment and leadership skills, strong facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Process oriented with the ability to understand complex data and information
