There are a few other Architects that this person could be collaborating with on different projects - a Digital Architect and an Integration Architect that they currently have on the team.

The work schedule is hybrid with 2-3 days per week in the office. For candidates outside of these metros, relocation is offered. Minimal travel. Maybe some travel to Chicago once in a while if they were based in either of the other offices.

• The Enterprise Architect for Big Data (EABD) helps to reduce risk, increase business value, and manage costs as a member of the Enterprise Architecture team.
• This position reports into the Director of Enterprise Architecture and is a member of Enterprise Architecture Team.
1. The EABD serves as the domain expert for Big Data ensuring veracity of Big Data strategies, standards, best practices, and governance processes.
2. Scope of practice specific to Enterprise Architects:
a. Trusted Technology Advisor that partners with IT counterparts and business stakeholders to enable new capabilities while mitigating risk.
b. Technology Steward that partners with other enterprise architects to create relevant technology standards, maintain architectural patterns, and facilitate governance processes that ensure best practice.
c. Technology Strategist that works to future-proof the BSI technology ecosystem by elevating tactical business requirements into scalable, portable, secure, extensible, value propositions.
Role Responsibilities
a. As Advisor,
The EABD defines patterns, builds reference models, and stewards technology roadmaps to drive best practices, coach project delivery teams at key milestones, and continuously drive innovation and improvement of Big Data.
Inspire, collaborate, and build credibility as a domain expert in Big Data specifically data science, data governance, and master data management.
b. As Steward,
Key priorities will include reducing risk like tech debt or reducing total cost of ownership of existing data assets and tools. To do so, the EABD must be able to educate, guide, and influence stakeholders, IT delivery teams, and IT leaders to work towards best practices and standards set in architectural patterns.
This architect teams with other architects to facilitate governance processes like the ARB, TRB, and annual planning. They steward architectural patterns set by key stakeholders with an annual value realization review or IT audit.
c. As a Strategist,
This key contributor defines, influences, and evolves the Big Data strategy, standards, and roadmap to future proof and democratize our data ecosystem. This may include how ingestion, harmonization, normalization, container, curation, and analytics technologies create relevant business value and drive measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant equivalent.
2. At least 8 years of experience evolving Big Data ecosystems with hands on experience as a data engineer or DBA.
3. Minimum 5 years as a Data Architect with thought leadership experience building product roadmaps, influencing stakeholders and delivering to measurable outcomes.
4. Working technical knowledge and experience with data science and machine learning (e.g, heuristic and predictive analytics), Big Data (e.g., data lakes, containers), MDM, MDG, and data operations. Solid understanding of data ingestion, harmonization, containment, curation, and analytics is key.
5. Experience and working knowledge of enterprise tools, MDM, and Big Data products like Informatica, SAP SAC, Oracle, Tableau, Salesforce, etc. PaaS and DaaS knowledge is key.
6. Solid knowledge and experience with enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF.
