Assign and track tasks including estimates, energy calcs and job set-ups daily. Check quality and accuracy of estimator’s work. Ensure that all deadlines are hit in accordance with workflow schedule. Provide daily coaching and training. Ensure that HVAC sizing calculations are performed using company approved computer software and procedures.
Ensure HVAC systems are designed in accordance with company procedures and industry guidelines as well as per local, state, and federal building and energy conservation codes. Ensure that HVAC design drawings are created with the help of company approved software. HVAC designs are used for material take off costing, building permit submittals and field installations. Ensure that equipment is properly sized in accordance with sizing calculations, company procedures, industry guidelines and customer specifications.
Ensure accurate equipment and material takeoffs of sizes and quantities from design drawings. Ensure that material takeoffs are entered into company estimate spreadsheets in order to determine job and overhead costs. Ensure that accurate work orders and material lists are prepared for warehouse and installation department use. Work with sales staff, field supervisors, purchasing supervisor and operations manager in order to update existing design master layouts and cost estimates due to updated job conditions and/or specifications. Understand all phases of HVAC installation from conceptual design to a finished operating system. Requires the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings in order to take off pertinent information to perform calculations and HVAC design.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field or foreign equivalent, plus 60 months of experience in the job offered and 60 months of experience in HVAC systems design and estimating.
