Job Title: Android Engineer (2)
Location: New York, NY, Fully Remote
Duration: Fulltime role
Must-Haves
Java and Android SDK is required, Kotlin is strongly preferred. Candidates with previous heavy work experience in contract positions are not preferred.
6+ years building apps in a production environment. How have you helped build apps in a production environment; what was your level of contribution?
Experience deploying apps to the Play Store; ideally for enterprise SaaS companies. What apps you have deployed to Play Store; links available? what companies (description/industry)? How many downloads did each app have?
Describe any personal/public projects you have worked on (what are you most proud of) are they available for review?
Experience with framework/skills: Gradle build tool; Volley/Retrofit/Okhttp; Realm, Room; Dagger, Hilt; and RelativeLayout & ConstraintLayout
Nice-To-Haves
Capability and desire to solve challenging problems
SaaS industry and startup experience is great
Comfort in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities
Design and execute user-facing features on Android devices
Create and update application designs for application enhancements
Provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices
Produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and inspected for continuous integration
Carefully evaluate the technical tradeoffs of every decision
Work with the Design team to hone in on the best UI and infrastructure practices
Participate in the full SDLC (Agile), including meetings, iterative development, estimations and design sessions
