Technical Skills:

• Demonstrated experience coordinating analytical projects, large statistical reports, and applying advanced statistical methods
• Proficiency in data querying and cleaning; strong knowledge of data structures and ability to efficiently manipulate/query data
• Strong communication skills with the ability to write and present material clearly which can be easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences (required please provide examples)
• Experience using statistical computer languages (R, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
• Background and understanding of database development, systems and production report software preferred
• Experience with Tableau a must, experience with ARC GIS, and Crystal Reports, Microsoft SSRS, or other report writing software preferred

Required Experience:

• Experience developing statistical reports, conducting analyses, and preparing complex information for agency leadership, education and workforce practitioners and the policymaker communities
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience developing, maintaining, and analyzing big data.
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a concentration in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or related fields
• 2 to 5 years of experience in a professional or academic environment with R or Python programming languages (a short programming exercise is required as part of the process)
• Experience with version control such as git and GitHub.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and revise queries and reports to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
• Develop statistical tables and graphs, conduct analyses, and work with a variety of stakeholders to create reports and information products.
• Utilize data from the Client Longitudinal Data System (KLDS) to develop reports using database reporting software as well as statistical software packages when needed to conduct advanced analyses under the direction of senior management.
• Work with state and public agency staff as well as other individuals to understand and document their data needs, develop report proofs, create reports, dashboards or other items to fulfill their data needs.
• Analyze and collect data using techniques and platforms such as natural language processing, big data, and machine learning
• Analyze data in R or Python programming languages
• Work with both Technical and research staff
• Apply and implement research principles and goals into code
• Effectively communicate results back to research staff
• Debug and solve programming problems
• Take the initiative to suggest improvements or innovations of methods or processes
