Description:

  • ***CLIENT NEEDS REALLY HIGH QUALITY CANDIDATES AS THIS IS A CONTRACT TO HIRE POSITION***
  • *Working from an office starting from the first day (no WFH). Local candidates only.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Assist electrical engineers in PCB board testing, troubleshooting, and repair; create test procedures and test reports; lead in organizing and maintaining electrical lab areas;
  • The candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assist with PCB testing and making cable assemblies
  • Diagnose, test, and analyze the performance of electrical components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Set up and operate standard or specialized testing equipment.
  • Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to create test procedures and test reports
  • Manage electrical lab area inventory and perform tasks related to inventory management.
  • Conduct system functional tests, and troubleshoot devices and equipment as required
  • Perform tests, write reports and archive records.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance to engineering and product development
  • Other job duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Experience with soldering and PCB repair
  • Experience with making cable assemblies and wiring
  • Ability to read schematic and layout files.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Knowledge/experience with proper PC board/System level design
  • Experienced using oscilloscopes, multimeters and basic lab tools and instruments. (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers is a plus)
  • When necessary, make modifications on SMT boards, using solder to add or remove components/connections
  • Knowledge of communications protocols is a plus i.e. TCP/IP etc.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's Degree in electrical engineering
  • Note: If the candidate has 3 - 5 years of experience in electrical engineering then this will suffice in lieu of education.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have reliable, appropriate transportation.
  • Up to 10% of work time

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Advanced knowledge of Google platform.

COMMUNICATION and/or CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS:

  • Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent's.
