About the job Job Description

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
• Self-starter, needs little supervisor/or none to accomplish work.
• Able to Read and interprets blue prints, mechanical and electrical schematics, and ladder logic.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and facility equipment.
• Ability to trouble shoot issues from PLC and other electrical issues from production equipment.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and milling equipment.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Read, review schematics and operating manuals to repair and maintain equipment.
• Complete work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance activities.
• Perform general building maintenance, plumbing, roof, fire system, drywall, floor and any other carpentry repairs.
• Perform a variety of maintenance requiring knowledge pertaining to pipefitting, electrical, electronics, welding, Lathe, Milling, fabrication, soldering, brazing and other skilled trades.
• Perform a variety of preventative maintenance on machines, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, boilers, fillers, and facility equipment.
• Rebuild and fabricate parts

• 4-7 years maintenance experience in the food industrial environment is a plus.
• Must provide his own tools to make repairs and/or make adjustments.
• Excellent electrical & mechanical aptitude.
• Must demonstrate excellent trouble shooting skills.
• Experience in juice filling equipment is a plus.
• Experience with welding/fabrication, sanitary welding is a plus.
• Knowledge in top sealers, case erectors, conveyors, mixers, pumps, and tape machines.
• Able to handle multiple tasks with capability of prioritizing and planning work activities.
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness with ability to improve and promote quality and safety.
• Understanding of PLC and computer based control systems with the ability to diagnose and repair the issue.
• Ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Good verbal and communication skills.
• Ability to complete daily maintenance work orders and PMs.
• Knowledge of GMPs, lock out/ tag out, and arc flash is a plus.
• Work overtime and weekends when required.
