Job Description:
Department of Health is seeking a data engineer to provide production support for the three office locations providing support for 3000 telephone numbers. Remote support of VoIP systems at our Newark and Woodbine locations.
Candidate must have strong end user communication skills and the ability to provide solutions regarding call management, coverage paths within the Avaya VoIP platform.
Familiar with work order management of systems, daily checking, receiving, and completing of tickets as required.
Audit and manage inventory of all VoIP devices on the network.
Troubleshoot, add, remove VoIP stations as required using the VoIP Avaya platform manager system.
Ability to program Virtual DID's, Coverage paths, and desk phone programming of J179 and B189 Phones.
Familiar with data networks, DHCP, DNS, configurations as it relates to VoIP technologies
Troubleshoot connectivity issues of data networks
Troubleshoot and support analog fax lines.
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 2 to 5 yrs.
The Voice/Data Engineer (VDE) directs and participates in all activities related to the selection and installation of telephone facilities and special on-premises equipment that will meet the customer's communication requirements. Responsible for all technology and connectivity involving telecommunications and data networks. Typically specializes in telephony and data interfaces and systems that have proprietary functions within the communications area of a corporation/business. General wiring excluded, the Voice/Data Engineer ensures that any specialized conduit or wiring is properly deployed and installed according to code. Expert in audio/visual, teleconferencing, and voice mail equipment. Often specialized or is certified in a particular piece of equipment.
This position is to be on site 100% from the start of the engagement.
Required Skills:
Prior professional work experience administering and troubleshooting VoIP using Avaya Platform - (System Manager) (2 years) Prior experience supporting VOIP Telephony Systems (4 years) Install, troubleshoot and support analog fax lines. (2 years) Prior professional work experience administering and troubleshooting Voice Mail systems (4 years)
Preferred Skills:
- Prior professional work experience administering and troubleshooting Avaya Voice Mail Aura (2 years)
- Prior experience installing, troubleshooting and supporting Verizon CMAC Centrex and POS line (2 years)
- Prior experience supporting, troubleshooting and supporting voicemail platforms. (2 years)
- Prior hands on experience with work order management/ticketing systems (i.e. view, update and complete work orders) (2 years)
- Experience in troubleshooting data networks, familiar with operation VLAN and DHCP technologies as they relate to networking of VoIP systems (2 years)
- Prior professional work experience supporting call centers using Avaya CMS Supervisor (Auto Attendants) (2 years)
- Setup and configuration of mobile devices using AirWatch (CMS) (2 years)
- Familiar with Legacy ISDN technologies (2 years)
