Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the Department Director or designee as defined by Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse {(ORS. 678.150/851-045-0030 through 851-045-0100) Nurse Practice Act (2008)}. It is our expectation that each employee will offer his/her services wherever and whenever necessary to ensure the success of our collaborative efforts.The hospital-assigned Registered Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for MCMC including those for patient assessment and transfer. Education:Graduated from accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred; Oregon RN license required at hireBLS required at hireLicensure/Certification:Certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN ) highly desiredCurrent applicable Oregon RN license required.Experience:Minimum two years Oncology nursing experience required, Five years preferred. Certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN ) highly desired *Bio-Chemotherapy certified Excellent at placing peripheral IV's, proficient in accessing central lines Knowledgeable in oncology/hematology diseases and regimens Eager to learn new drugs and regimes Knowledge how to safely administer oncology and non-oncology infusions and their potential side effects and reactions Proficient in reviewing Lab results and the implications of such Proficient in educating patients about their disease, the drugs they are taking, side effects and when to call providerSkills/Knowledge/Abilities:Strong organizational skills Ability to prioritize and reprioritize quickly Ability to develop collaborative relationships both internally and externally Strong interpersonal skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in teams Ability to work autonomously Strong oncology knowledge Proficient in Epic Critical-thinking skills
