2 or 3 year contracts, full benefits, relocation, sign-on bonus and retention bonus Each nurse is paired up with one OPC provider and they work out of three OPC rooms for patient care. Most providers see 14-18 patients per day (most commonly around one patient every 30 minutes). The clinic day moves very quickly. Candidates will be expected to keep up with the flow and pace and multitask well. Each patient is triaged (several intake questions and vital signs documented in our EHR Cerner). In between each triage various patient needs are addressed (EKG, Immunization updates, NST, dressing change/wound packing, specimen collection, throat swabs, cast care/removal, labs, occasional IV, etc. to name a few). Experience in fast paced nursing settings (ED, Ambulatory Care, Urgent Care, etc.) and experience with EHRs is preferred. Each nurse is responsible for stocking their rooms each morning in order to be prepared throughout the day. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 830am to 500pm. Typically the last patients of the day are scheduled at 430pm, but they are often not finished with patient care at 500pm. Nurses rotate "closing" clinic each night (stay until all patient care is completed around 6-630pm typically). Clinic is closed on the weekend and most federal holidays.VILLAGE TRAVEL IS MANDETORY FOR ALL PERMANENT NURSES. Providers and nurses travel out to various villages for two to three days to care for patients in the village clinic. These trips are a great opportunity to experience village life, see a bit of "bush" AK and are usually very rewarding experiences. Nurses can expect to travel at least once per quarter. Nurses in clinic wear scrubs. There are no specific requirements for the scrubs other than being clean, in good condition and not grossly wrinkled.
