Job Title: Lead Java Backend Engineer
Location: NYC, NY/ Remote
Duration: 12 months possible extension
IV: 2-hour interview with 3 members of the team; broken up in 3 sections - coding, technical, and behavioral
Job Description:
We are searching for a Back-End Engineer with experience in designing and Maintaining large scale systems that impact 10M+ customers. The candidate must be proficient in at least one programming language based on the JVM (e.g. Kotlin, Java), as well as have experience in processing and storing Big Data leveraging SQL and NoSQL Databases, and familiarity with AWS (specifically EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3).
We prefer candidates with experience in operational excellence and Monitoring of tier 1 services and familiarity with the DevOps working model.
We prefer candidate have 5 yr experience with backend API Development (Spring Framework, Maven, Docker).
Intake Notes:
Very familiar with Java Back-End API Development; AWS environment as well. Day to day: daily scrum meetings, grooming and planning, heads down writing code, maybe some help with designing systems. Product is called Simple Response which is a one text response from users - send text with link to customers and they can use the link to log in to their online profile and then have on tap options from there. Want to develop new features for this product so wanting to expand the team. 4-5 years of experience; prefers candidates with AWS cert because they are requiring all their FTEs to get certified in AWS (but not required) Front end experience is not required, but is a plus Team size: 4 Engineers total plus Manager and one Designer and two Product Managers.
