Why is this role open?

WWT is has opportunities for (2) Sr Software Engineers (Preferably with NSO) for a very long-term, REMOTE opportunity with Cisco. The Sr. Software Engineer will design, and architect solutions. The successful candidate will have broad and deep knowledge of software development,

The Software Developer will work in a small virtual team to design, build, test, and integrate the solutions. The team works with large Service Providers and Enterprise customers to help modernize their networks to virtualized, smart and secure systems.

You will develop solutions leveraging software products & tools from open-source, 3rd party vendors. Automation solutions may comprise software products and tools such as Cisco NSO, NFV solutions to automate Cisco and 3rd party Virtual Network Functions (VNFs), OpenStack, Workflow Management and UI/Portal systems.

Responsibilities

• Cisco is looking for help scaling out NPN/NSO. NSO is an internal tool that is used for automation of tasks in large environments. NSO touches Linux, architecture in Java, and various databases with transactional views.

• Develop and lead initiatives to drive delivery excellence, improving productivity across the organization, improving delivery quality and standardization

• Must have a strong software development background (Computer Science degree highly preferred)

• NSO experience is not mandatory

• Foster a culture of innovation and software practices to find new valuable ideas across the delivery organization

• Perform integration, system & acceptance testing in various non-production as well as in a customer's production environment

• Strong understanding of declarative languages

• Sr. Java programming experience

• Fullstack developer skills

• Ansible

• Linux or UNIX administration

• Automation is not important to this role more than hardcore software development
