Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician, under the direction of the Pathologist and Department Director, performs Phlebotomy on different age groups in a proficient and caring manner while maintaining adherence to OSHA Blood borne Pathogen Standards for Category I exposure level. MT or MLT has the ability to perform moderately complex CLIA tests and highly complex CLIA tests without supervision. Collects and prepares samples for analysis. Operates, calibrates and maintains clinical laboratory instrument or equipment. The applicant needs to be a Medical Technologist (preferred) or a Medical Laboratory Technician, with a national registry. The most common is ASCP, but AMT is also acceptable, they must meet Montana state licensure requirements. Required to possess Montana State licensure. Experience in a clinical laboratory setting is required. Rate of $80 will paid to Medical Technologists. Medical Laboratory Technician will be less. Effective June 1, 2020 candidates from out of state that are chosen will be tested for Covid.
