Job Title: Seat Structure Design Engineer Location: Dublin,OH/Irvine , CA/Peoria , IL Experience : 3 -10 Years Job Type: Contract / Full Time Job Description: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive seat structure and mechanism design and development Ability to design Seat structure including cushion frame, back frame and mechanisms Working knowledge of regulatory and certification requirements for seating system Maintain and develop Design Validation Plans (DVP), and Design Failure Mode Analysis (DFMEA) Good knowledge of seating system and component manufacturing processes Create BOM and perform product evaluation through validation process Actively engage with Automotive OEM / Tier-I design engineers to collaborate on design projects for trading off cost, mass, joining methods, molding and testing performance. Propose and promote design improvement approaches including cost reduction and design optimization Complete and release seat structure, sub-system and detail designs Interpret CAE simulation results and integrate recommendations into product design Collaborate with seat part suppliers and support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events Meet project deliverables commitments and timelines Design of automotive component parts in CATIA V5/V6. Experience in creating 3D designs and 2D drawings (e.g. CATIA V5 only) Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and capability to drive offshore team
