The Technical Specialist is a senior level resource with specialized knowledge and experience in GIS Engineering ***The candidate will be allowed to work remotely until all staff return to site. At that point the candidate will be required to come onsite. ***The candidate will need to come onsite the first day to collect equipment. DIT Transportation GIS Unit is requesting a Technical Specialist Level GIS Engineer for its Enterprise GIS (EGIS) enhancement and multiple project support efforts. This position provides crucial support to GIS Unit. The responsibility of this person is to assist the lead GIS Engineer in implementation of EGIS for planned enhancements and system expansion due to on-going support of work efforts such as Project ATLAS, Spot Online, Asset Inventory Collection to On-prem EGIS, ArcGIS Upgrade. This GIS Engineer is to utilize advanced knowledge and skills in computer systems, networks, and GIS technologies to help build and maintain DOT's Enterprise GIS system. The position will also help perform system monitoring and fine-tune related components for adequate availability and performance. The position will be required to provide technical leadership, document the procedures for system build, monitoring, troubleshoot and regular maintenance. This employee must work with other teams in IT and user community to coordinate the planning, design, development, and implementation of any GIS systems and processes.
