We have an excellent Full Time opening for a Project Engineer to work with our client project supporting testing projects in an automotive environment.
Job Description:
  • Responsible for software evaluation of connected vehicle mobile applications on Android and iOS devices.
  • Lead cross time zone project status meetings (bi-lingual skills helpful) with global team during product development cycle, requires meeting during after office hours.
  • Report and track software issues as well as communicate improvement opportunities to internal stakeholders.
  • Product owner of mobile application services for the connected vehicle portfolio.
  • Participate and support future connected services product launch.
  • Create, execute function and regression test plan based on feature requirement.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams, including, but not limited to: o Issue investigation related to mobile application feature(s) o Issue reproduction in vehicle and/or in lab environment.
  • Communicate to Tier 1 suppliers on head unit improvement points.
  • Participate with in vehicle drive test (as necessary) focusing on infotainment system as the device under test.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily standup, sprint planning, sprint refinement and sprint demo.
  • Report impediments and/or enhancement opportunities to leadership team.
Primary Skills:
  • 5 years of experience working with vehicle infotainment system functions such as navigation, Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple Carplay, navigation, Voice Assistance and Wi-Fi.
  • Mobile app testing experience related to connected vehicle services.
  • Working knowledge of mobile app development and testing.
  • Fundamental knowledge of vehicle electronics with infotainment systems.
  • Ability to diagnostic and isolate software/hardware failures at component level.
  • Ability to articulate and dissect complex issues into simple and meaningful format.
  • Experience in translating requirements into test artifacts and evaluate for expected behavior.
  • Experience with agile and waterfall development cycles.
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment including multiple parties such as team members, business partners and external suppliers.
Secondary Skills:
  • Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English languages, is a plus. A Japanese (native speaker) is preferred, would consider non-native speaker with JLPT level N1 N3.
