Senior Solutions and Service Architect

Tampa, FL

In conjunction with fellow Solutions/Service Architects, the Senior Solutions and Service Architect works with enterprise infrastructure, business representatives, and application development areas to provide General Consulting, Design, and Implementation Planning services that support the company IT strategy. This position works closely with IT Platform and Application Architecture and Subject Matter Experts throughout the company to help identify/design/plan infrastructure changes.

Principal Responsibilities

• Design and plan Information Technology solutions based on business requirements.
• Develop artifacts that support business planning, high level designs, and implementation plans resulting in build, operations, and services specifications.
• Incorporate security and resiliency concerns into infrastructure designs to minimize exposures.
• Provide consulting services to customers/requestors and articulate and demonstrate how currently supported infrastructure solutions could address their business challenges and opportunities.
• Maintain understanding of existing DTCC technology assets for leveraging the reuse and/or consolidation of IT services.
• Lead and enable collaboration across technology specialties.
• Maintain working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
• Evaluate and recommend technology solutions, often in conjunction with subject matter experts
• Work with Infrastructure and application development teams to architect standard infrastructure solutions within the DTCC estate.
• Monitor and participate in post-implementation reviews to ensure compliance.

Experience Required

• Experience with engineering solutions adhering to compliance i.e.: HIPAA, SOX, SAS70, etc.
• Experience in the following: Cloud services. Virtual Server technologies, Networking & Security, Database Deployment / Migration.
• In depth experience with Cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), automation, orchestration, cost frameworks, trends and industry-leading private/public/hybrid cloud vendor offerings and interoperability
• Experience with Amazon Web Services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, Lambda
• Experience architecting automated data center processes, including provisioning, application and patch management, monitoring and alerting, capacity monitoring and planning, leveraging execution and human approval workflow design and implementation
• Experience with Business Continuity and Disaster Recover design, planning and implementation.
• Infrastructure analysis and design experience in mapping user problems to reusable design and technology solutions.
• Functional knowledge of: Standards Usage, Cost Analysis and Management, Capacity Planning / Demand Management, Compliance, Support (Operations/Customer Care), Asset Repurpose Management, Risk Management, Green Technology, ITIL, IT Governance.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to business representatives.

Experience (Preferred):

• Experience with Linux (RHEL & SLES), Microsoft Windows (server and desktop) and Microsoft Technologies, and Solaris
• Experience with Web technologies including web services architectures and security
• Experience with RDBMS technologies including Oracle and Oracle RAC solution, MS-SQL, AWS PostgreSQL, DB2
• Experience with 10G & 40G network technologies and I/O Virtualization
• Experience overhauling legacy applications to work with modern technologies
• Experience with IBM Mainframe platforms including LPAR, IFL, zVM & zLinux
• Experience with IBM P-Series platforms including LPAR, dynamic LPAR, Micro-Partitioning, Virtual I/O Server and Capacity on Demand

Knowledge/Skills:

• Maintains current knowledge of marketplace changes, technology changes, and client businesses pertinent to cloud, server, storage and network virtualization
• Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of the Process Architecture
• Possesses a detailed understanding of Domain/Area/Team applications and their development throughout all phases of the lifecycle
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of the business units that the Domain supports
• Exemplifies leadership characteristics in support of DTCC corporate objectives
• Demonstrates proficiencies in business case development, program management, issue resolution, and communication
• Excellent analytical problem solving skills with a methodical approach to problem resolution across large scale distributed platforms
• Strong knowledge of multi-tiered application environments, including their design, implementation and capacity/scaling challenges
• Strong knowledge related to public/private/hybrid cloud solutions and market trends, PaaS, SaaS, storage and network optimization

Education, Training or Certification:

• Experience and/or certification in public cloud technologies such as, Amazon's AWS, Microsoft's Azure, and others
• In depth knowledge of Cloud Management tools and methodologies
• VMware Certified Design Expert for vSphere 5 preferred, with extensive hands-on experience as a Virtualization Architect in an enterprise environment
• Advanced degree in a technical discipline preferred
