Systems Engineer (Storage) Location: 100% Remote Duration - 12+ months contract Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, migrating, and documenting SAN and NAS. The position will be required to work closely with business partners and vendors, as well as peer client technical teams to implement SAN NAS solutions across a dynamic customer base.?? An emphasis is placed on migration tasks associated with updated hardware in multiple datacenters. Migrations will consist of NDM and LVM based migrations between storage arrays and data migrations between NAS platforms consisting of CIFS, NFS and multiprotocol shares. Strict change management procedures will need to be followed. Working after hours change windows will be required. Excellent attitude and internal drive to challenge the norm and always strive to make yourself and those around you better Respond quickly and effectively to storage failures and incidents, ensuring that customer data is protected, and correcting root cause to prevent future occurrences Participate in projects to deploy, expand, and update the storage technology infrastructure Adhere closely to Change Management policies and processes Create and maintain operational documentation Work with peer technology teams and customers to provision and configure storage Participate in afterhours migration efforts. Work with other team members to continuously improve services, streamline internal processes, and maximize infrastructure effectiveness Required: Experience and/or understanding with Storage and Backup technologies including NAS, SAN, FC, Object/S3, Snapshots WAN / LAN network technologies General understanding of SAN and NAS migration methodologies including NDM, LVM, and DataDobi (or similar data movement tool) General understanding of host operating systems including AIX, AS400, Linux, Windows 2012/2016/2019/2022, VMware, Oracle DB and Microsoft SQL database offerings, and Microsoft Server Infrastructure including Windows server, Active Directory, DNS Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to apply them in a collaborative manner Experience with automation technologies such as Ansible or Terraform Experience with Storage auditing and practices in AWS and Azure Understanding of Object technologies such as HDS and Pure FlashBlade Strong focus on delivering excellent customer service Ability to prioritize complex tasks and shift priorities in constantly changing conditions Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, and meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment Able to work with others effectively Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve project milestones and deadlines Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to various audiences with clarity and confidence Familiarity with ITIL concepts and best practices Must be self-motivated, driven for success, and carry a desire for personal and corporate growth.
