Job Title: Protein Chemist Associate

Location: South San Francisco, CA

Duration: 12 months

Responsibilities:

• Perform protein chemistry experiments including measuring protein concentration and dilutions
• Aliquot and label vials containing purified proteins for storage
• Support vialing of purified protein solutions using bio-microlab instrumentation
• Handle Occupational Exposure Band (OEB4 and OEB5) compounds safely by following EHS protocols and procedures
• Prepare solutions and buffers following SOPs
• Perform protein (mAb and ADC) characterization such as CE-SDS, Mass Spectrometry and SEC with training
• Help track/document service calls for maintenance and instrument repair
• Document data as needed in an electronic lab notebook

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, life sciences, or other relevant areas with 1-2 years or Master or PHD with 0-1year of experience in wet lab work
• Ability to calculate protein concentrations and dilutions
• Experience with single- and multi-channel manual pipettes
• Strong organization, attention to detail and the ability to follow written procedures
• Ability to multi-task while working safely and independently
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

Skills:

• Protein characterization is highly preferred
• Experience with date processing software
