Job Title: BI & Advanced AnalyticsJob Location: US-GA-MariettaJob Type: ContractOverviewThe Director,BI & Advanced Analytics, role is responsible for creating the BI strategy that supports the needs of the BLC business. The Director, BI & Advanced Analytics collaborates with all data users to refine that strategy and create a roadmap of strategic initiatives that will build, sustain and enhance the data reporting & analytics capabilities. The Director, BI & Advanced Analytics leads the development of business intelligence (BI) gathering practices and the management of data and information. The Director, BI & Advanced Analytics is instrumental in the facilitation of data analysis and coordination with decision makers in the company to ensure that information gathering, and analysis support the overall development of business strategies. The Director, BI & Advanced Analytics is also responsible to ensure that all activities adhere to standard IT policies and practices.ResponsibilitiesLeads a team of technical and business analysts, including the selection, hiring, development, coaching and evaluation thereof, to support the business and achieve performance goals.Collaborates closely with business leaders to understand their initiatives, design appropriate technology solutions, and coordinate the implementation of those solutions across multiple teams.Establishes, maintains, and communicates the Business Intelligence roadmap in collaboration with Analytics (link removed)forms and executes against the BI/Self-service Analytics business case, providing consultative thought leadership on analytics and supporting the strategic development and execution of analytics in alignment with enterprise strategy.Leads data requirements for BI layer, partnering with strategic partners and business to deliver in alignment with the roadmap.Drives the maintenance and integrity of data warehouses established for enterprise BI.Collaborates with strategic BI partners and builds a team of employees and vendors to form a high-performance BI team.Leads, inspires, and grows a team of analytics professionals.Stays abreast of developments at the intersection of data, technology, and business relevant to the company and drive business innovation through analytics.Works closely with data scientists, research scientists, and the software team to understand data, create & improve models, and define software needs & requirements. Researches, designs and implements machine learning/deep learning algorithmsCollaborates with leadership and establishes data governance to ensure continued advancement of the enterprises analytics maturity.Champions the creation and cultivation of insights and analytics driven culture across the organization.Manages a group of employees directly and/or has significant indirect responsibilities in getting work done through others. This role requires a player-coach who can strategically design a roadmap and execute key initiativesDecision-making is subject to broad practices and procedures covered by functional precedents, policies, and professional standardsContributes to development of an operating plan and budget. Responsible for BI portion of the IT budget.Problems are complex, and solutions requires understanding of advanced topics in analytics.Ability to build consensus and be appropriately diplomatic, understands others roles and perspectives, can sell projects and ideas internally and across the organization.QualificationsCertifications related to system design or project management a plus.BS / BA Degree in related field preferred.8+ years of experience (link removed) background in IT applications design, development, or management with a preference toward experience in the distribution or manufacturing space.Excellent analytical skills with competency with T-SQL.Excellent teamwork and communication skills.Leadership and project management skills.Ability to lead cross functional teams.Knowledge of modern machine learning technologies (deep neural networks, language models, attention mechanisms including transformers, etc.)
