Cybersecurity Analyst (Remote Contract) Location: Atlanta (Preference for candidates in Atlanta but open to remote work) Company Overview: We are a leading company in the oil and gas industry, committed to ensuring the security and integrity of our critical digital infrastructure. As part of our ongoing efforts to protect our operations from cyber threats, we are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team on a remote contract basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to assess and evaluate various cybersecurity tools and technologies specific to the oil and gas industry. Job Summary: As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will be responsible for assessing and evaluating cybersecurity tools and technologies relevant to the oil and gas industry. You will play a vital role in strengthening our security posture, safeguarding our digital assets, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This is a remote contract position, although candidates based in Atlanta are preferred. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of cybersecurity tools and technologies specific to the oil and gas industry, such as SCADA systems, industrial control systems (ICS), and remote monitoring solutions.
- Analyze and identify potential vulnerabilities in existing security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access controls, and incident response processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define security requirements and develop strategies for enhancing our overall cybersecurity infrastructure.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber threats, attack techniques, and industry best practices in the oil and gas sector, recommending appropriate tools and countermeasures.
- Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security audits to identify and address potential risks and weaknesses in our systems.
- Create comprehensive reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and risk assessments tailored to technical and non-technical stakeholders in the oil and gas industry.
- Assist in the development and implementation of incident response plans, security policies, and procedures aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to the team on cybersecurity matters, including training sessions and knowledge sharing specific to the oil and gas sector.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, GICSP) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience working as a Cybersecurity Analyst or similar role in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on assessing and evaluating industry-specific cybersecurity tools and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of network security principles, secure coding practices, cryptography, and industrial control systems (ICS) security.
- Familiarity with industry-specific security tools, such as SCADA security solutions, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
- Experience conducting penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security audits in the context of oil and gas operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in the oil and gas industry.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote and cross-functional environment.
