job summary:Preference will be given for familiarity with automated testing methodologies, TFS continuous integration and solid coding experience using TDD. Knowledge of DCF programs, prior experience with theclient CARES system and familiarity with client application systems, procedures, and development standards is highly preferred and familiarity with the DCF Business Intelligence processes and tools is a plus.location: MADISON, Wisconsinjob type: Contractsalary: $47.66 - 52.66 per hourwork hours: 8am to 5pmeducation: Bachelorsresponsibilities:This developer position will provide application development and support for Department of Children and Families (DCF) CARES related mainframe applications. This developer will work as part of a team to develop and enhance mainframe applications using technologies such as COBOL and DB2 databases to implement maintenance & enhancement mainframe functionality.The Cobol Mainframe Programmer 5 (CMP5) will work on high profile mainframe application projects within the Family and Economic Support Technology Services (FESTS) section. The incumbent will maintain and develop online and batch application programs by reviewing, analyzing, coding, testing and debugging application code. They will develop specifications, diagrams, flowcharts and documentation. The CMP3 will analyze and develop programs using COBOL, DB2, C#.NET, XML, API, SQL Server, Visual Studio, VSAM, and JCL for the new enhancements. The CMP3 will implement application changes, enhancements and new applications and provide post implementation support.This position requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
