Job Responsibilities:

The Scientist will lead regional projects for a variety of brands in the nutritional / dietary supplement space and will be directly responsible for leading projects. He/She will work with external manufacturers to meet a specific end target, scale up the product, and ensure products can be manufactured reliably to ensure business continuity. He/She will partner closely with all functions responsible for product innovation, including but not limited to Packaging, Analytical, Microbiology, Toxicology, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Operations, and Quality & Compliance. He/She will help troubleshoot technical issues as they arise during the development process.

The Scientist will continue to develop an understanding of all the elements associated with product design and process development for an array of product forms, such as, tablets, capsules, gummies, and liquid, and will build relationships with external suppliers in order to enable the execution of the nutritionals product portfolio for North America.

The Scientist II will author technical reports and act as a peer reviewer, as needed. He/She will act as the technical leader of the project and consult with the appropriate cross-functional partners as issues arise and escalate issues when necessary.

Requirements

A bachelors degree is required (Food Science, Nutritional Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmacy is preferred)
A minimum of 1-3 years of related experience (academic or industry), or a masters degree with relevant experience or PhD Degree is required
Familiarity with cGMP is required
The ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams and stakeholders is required
MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) proficiency is required
Oral and written communication skills are required
Experience working with one or more of the following product formats is preferred: tablets, capsules, gummies, liquids, and/or suspensions
Familiarity in formulation and process development for the Dietary Supplement, Food, Ingestibles, or Cosmetic space is preferred
Experience building supplement facts panels is preferred
Familiarity with DSHEA and Cosmetic regulatory requirements is preferred
