The Senior Marketing Manager and Copywriter will help lead the sales and marketing efforts of our books by overseeing copywriting schedules; copywriting book descriptions, and email blasts for sales and promotion; project managing titles and coordinating book launches with authors; and planning our promotion at trade shows.

What youll work on:

Co-manage the copywriting of title info sheets, product copy, book jacket copy, promotional materials, and email blasts

Present and write presentations for one third of the titles at each Penguin Random House Publisher Services Launch Meetings and Sales Conferences

Manage at least fifteen book campaigns per year, coaching authors on marketing efforts

Plan our presence at 35 trade shows per year, including managing booth logistics, planning promotion, and coordinating with authors


Requirements

Experience and qualifications:

Five+ years of marketing, publicity, and/or sales experience

Copywriting skills and experience

Presentation writing and presenting skills

Detail-oriented and can organize and manage many different responsibilities

Track record of performing responsibilities with accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and efficiency through paid and/or volunteer work

Track record of being accountable for meeting deadlines through paid and/or volunteer work

Undergraduate college degree or equivalent experience

Be proficient at Office Suite for Mac (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); experience with Filemaker Pro or other database experience, Asana or other project management tools, and Hubspot or other CRM a plus

Salary: $80,111 (Berrett-Koehler has a published salary schedule for all positions. The salary for this position corresponds to a Manager Level 4A and is non-negotiable.)
