Senior Marketing Coordinator

Office Location: 601 First Street NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504

Position Classification: Full-Time Regular


Rockford Construction is looking for a Senior Marketing Coordinator to join our dynamic Marketing and Communication Team. In this role, you will be part of an in-house creative team that is responsible for Rockfords overall branding, messaging and sales support efforts. This role involves writing, editing and coordination of copy for various Rockford collateral, and project management of select efforts such as monthly e-blasts, the companys Year in Review magazine and Community Impact Report, along with website/intranet updates and other items as needed, such as client proposal content or sales packages. The role requires excellent professional writing skills along with project management capabilities, a high level of creativity and adaptability, and the ability to be a self-starter and thrive under pressure. This position reports to the Director of Communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Writing, editing and coordination of copy for various Rockford collateral and project management of select efforts: e-newsletters, Year in Review, Community Impact Report, blog, website and other items, as needed.
  • Assists and coordinates client proposals and information packages.
  • Coordination and production of project interview presentations and award submittals.
  • Key contributor in maintaining the Rockford Construction website and intranet.
  • Assists with special events, including select internal events, client events, ribbon-cuttings, groundbreakings, etc.
  • Strong collaboration with Marketing team along with other corporate departments and services.
  • Provide marketing/communication-related services including content for targeted communication pieces, presentations for project interviews, project-specific qualifications material, and other material to supplement business development.
  • Archive proposal elements, build on to existing and develop new boilerplate, and update company data.
  • Assist in company content strategies to produce regular content in support of Rockford brand.
  • Help build collaborative relationships with leadership team to facilitate team synergy and effectiveness.
  • Supports the Marketing team as requested. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a related field (Communications, English, Journalism, or Marketing).
  • Five or more years of copywriting/editing experience and marketing project management.
  • Confident, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive, with proven ability to effectively take ownership, organize work tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Clear understanding and experience of brand development and support.
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while consistently producing results of exceptional quality.
  • Initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness, with the ability to execute effectively.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated initiative and excellent organizational skills, with ability to manage and prioritize a wide variety of multi-step projects and tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Marketing or communications experience in the construction, architecture or engineering industry strongly preferred.
  • Visualization, layout, and/or graphic design skills that facilitate appealing and effective communication preferred.


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • AEC (Architecture, Engineering or Construction) industry experience.
  • Visualization, layout, and/or graphic design skills that facilitate appealing and effective communication, with experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office programs preferred.

Environmental Factors

The work environment for this position may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction sites. Examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces. The individual may also be subjected to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times outside the job trailer. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less.
