Senior Technical QA Analyst

Contract - 24 months

Remote/Hybrid

Background:

Under FERC Oder 760 the client is obligated to provide all market related data to FERC via (link removed) files on a daily basis for the previous calendar day (24 hour period) on a 7 day/week 365 day/year basis.

The client currently provides FERC daily filings (data) via FTP along with the Data Model of tables, columns, descriptions, data types and primary and foreign keys via a large Word document. FERC relies solely on the accuracy of the Data Model and the data to conduct its surveillance processes.

Objective:

The client wants to improve the process and data quality associated with the above and needs additional personnel to augment the current core team and support the subject matter experts (SMEs). The client also aims to improve the quality of the metadata for the purpose of making FERCs interpretation of the Data Model easier.

High Level Responsibilities

Establish testing plans, QA checks, and validation steps
Partner with IT leads to assist in quality check lists
Partner with business subject matter experts (SMEs) to assist in technical reviews and Data Model descriptions
Improve Data Model testing
Act as business analyst for the team
Create business requirements for graphical trend analysis to detect data issue in the daily filings. This type of review should be similar to what FERC uses.
Assist the team on improving the change management process including detection of changes.
Evaluate and improve:
o Manual SME change Information process
o Auto change watcher (Cherwell)
Keep Quarterly QA Report current
Assist team on improving issue tracking, follow-up actions and resolutions
Create document control process using the clients Document Management system (Cera)
Compare database data to Data Model
Ensure technical reviews of new release items

Requirements

The candidate should be proficient in the following:

  • Knowledge of SQL Server
  • Knowledge of Oracle architectural concepts
  • Understand ERDs
  • Analyzing business and data processes
  • Familiarity with document management
  • Experience in software testing and quality assurance
  • Experience in technical and business requirements writing
  • Experience in writing procedures
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
