Bakery is looking for an experienced Strategist to join our team in Austin. Our ideal candidate is a storyteller with tactical curiosity, a penchant for uncovering people's motivations, and an ability to sway the opinions of others. We need a leader with a brave mind who can operate alongside a small team that consistently looks to take smart risks and push them to turn good work into great work.

Our Senior Strategist will write and present well-researched, provocative creative briefs, and establish compelling brand POVs that present new truths and opportunities for our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help lead new business pitches as a key stakeholder in the process.
  • Build the narrative platform for our client's campaigns and brand work.
  • Write creative briefs that have a clear objective, obstacles, and influential insight that leads to lively creative exploration.
  • Design, conduct, and analyze research to determine the most impactful strategies and marketing campaigns.
  • Analyze data points to uncover succinct human truths and predictive behavioral patterns.
  • Further the advancement of our research and data collection processes.
  • Build and present creative briefs to internal agency teams.
  • Collaborate with researchers to infuse products and creative campaign work with behavioral insights.
  • Lead research end-to-end, including qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Execute new-to-world products and new brand development.
  • Strategically apply findings of human decision-making to all aspects of our work.
  • Conduct behavioral diagnosis to serve as a focal point for brand partnerships.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of applied experience in Brand Strategy, Account Planning, or Behavioral/Decision Sciences at an agency and/or working with developing insights, leading cultural trends, and driving big ideas for interactive platforms
  • Background as a master storyteller and a gifted writerYou will need to create compelling narratives in order to inspire and sell great work. We will require work samples of previous strategy narratives to consider you for this position.
  • Record of applying your research skills to develop products and generate business impact.
  • Good understanding of behavioral economics, causal inference, human judgment, and decision-making patterns.
  • Grasp of cognitive motivations including explicit and implicit motivational territories.
  • Experience with traditional qualitative and quantitative marketing research techniques.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong work ethic, excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Must be in Austin or willing to relocate.
