Summary

The Transportation/Shipping Assistant Supervisor creates, coordinates and completes shipments of goods between the company and vendor or customers. This position will manage shipments and the transport of goods. In addition, this role also organizes the TSP team across all shifts, interviews, hires, trains those associates.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead team of all functions for the Transportations Specialist
  • Manages schedule across all shifts.
  • Trains and provides feedback to team
  • Develop and use Carrier Scorecard
  • Main point of contact for shipping.
  • Works directly with our customer for the load planning of all items BBW is requesting to be shipped
  • Schedules all pickups in the portal with freight carriers
  • Adds all customer orders in ERP system and creates shipments from the plan by customer.
  • Schedules and tracks outbound freight via email.
  • Creates pick list for Material handlers and Verifiers
  • Inventory and record all diversified orders for all shipments
  • Verifies and balances inventory in our ERP system vs. SAP (customer inventory)
  • Coordinate shipments to ensure on-time deliveries of goods to customers
  • Critical, time sensitive decision making

Requirements

Education required

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)

Range of Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in a logistics environment
  • APICS
  • Experience with seasonal business
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Problem solving ability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent follow through is a Must

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or touch; reach, talk, hear and smell. The employee may be required to, kneel, crouch, sit, climb or balance. The employee may lift and/or move up to more than 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and aromas. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
