Were looking for a unicorn! Do you have a passion for music AND action sports? We are searching for an enthusiastic, experienced and knowledgeable Social Media Manager who can be the storyteller for our artists, athletes and company across both categories. As part of our collaborative, holistic communications team, you'll be responsible developing ideas and identity for our channels, maintaining and executing a content calendar, being responsive to requests and suggestions from colleagues, and developing strategy and content that speaks to our audiences.

This role is based in our Brooklyn, NY office.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop overall strategy and content creation ideas for the Wasserman Music and Wasserman Action Sports and Olympics (ASO) social media channels, including but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Spotify; and on behalf of Music for Wasserman's overall LinkedIn and Facebook channels.
  • Serve as a storyteller of the company in the social space, maintaining an appropriate, unique, and consistent voice, tone and point-of-view.
  • Create content plans and calendars, and implement processes to execute the plans across the scope all of Wasserman's services, and in collaboration with the rest of the social media and communications team.
  • Set and lead meetings with the Music and ASO teams to tell the story of Wasserman clients on social media, including but not limited to significant wins, new client signings, season storylines, brand activations/deals and cultural moments.
  • Work with the creative team to manage the overall creative direction of the channels, while keeping track of creative project timelines and incorporating feedback and preferences of the agents.
  • Build and define a dedicated audience unique to each platform, targeting prospective clients and music, sports and business professionals.
  • Generate and maintain social media guidelines and best practices for the company that support Wasserman Musics and Wasserman ASOs missions and strengthen the brand.
  • Communicate with key staff, including agents and executives, on content requests.
  • Responsible for following up with agents and executives after competition events (for example, The X Games, Supercross, World Surf League) to see if any of our athletes won or placed.
  • Along with athlete/client content, communicate with key staff, including agents and executives, on featuring notable deals on the social channels in a creative way.
  • Engage with the audience through exceptional copy that is relevant to the social space.
  • Manage the process of creating original visual content, including graphics and videos, and contribute to producing assets as needed.
  • Generate analytics reports on the performance of the channels, share findings with internal teams, and make suggestions based on analysis.
  • Work closely with the public relations/communications team as extension of the department, especially in regards to public company and client announcements.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • A passion for both music and action sports and the Olympics is essential.
  • 2-3 years of experience developing social media creative, editing copy and engaging with online audience.
  • Ability to create strategy based on company goals and identity, adapt & refine that strategy based on feedback and new information.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized.
  • A demonstrated passion for, and understanding of, social media.
  • Expertise in the function and utilization of major social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.).
  • Must have an understanding of ASO seasons and major events/competitions. This includes but is not limited to surfing, motorsports, snow sports, skateboarding, alpine skiing, mountaineering, track & field and more.
  • Must have an understanding of the language and sensibilities of different popular music genres, as well as the music business.
  • The desire and willingness to learn new skills and identify platforms as they emerge.
  • Initiative to stay on top of trends and online conversation.
  • An understanding that work might spill into evenings and weekends with concerts and events.
  • Ability to build relationships internally and become a trusted resource.
  • Experience with social media performance measurement tools.
  • Familiarity with social media management platforms.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (including PowerPoint) and Adobe Photoshop; video editing and visual effects capabilities are a plus.

Base salary range: $60,500 $70,000, plus bonus potential.

Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each hire.
