ALTIVIA, a leading private chemical business operating in Texas, Ohio, and West Virginia, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for contributing to the company's financial operations by preparing financial reports, analyzing financial data, and maintaining accurate financial records. ALTIVIA operates seven business units with a specialization in specific services, chemistries, and applications located across multiple states. It produces acetone derivatives such as ketones and carbinols for global distribution and is the third-largest merchant supplier of Phenol in North America. Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports and assist in the month-end closing process.
• Analyze financial data and provide financial insights to management.
• Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Monitor budget variances and provide variance explanations.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and company policies.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns for the company and subsidiaries.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to apply them.
• Experience with SAP or another accounting software is preferred.
