THE ROLE

The STEAM Summer Camp Educator is an educational visionary who explores and invests in innovative and best teaching practices. The STEAM Educator provides a learning environment that cultivates exposure and excellence in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.

THE PERSON

As a STEAM Summer Camp Educator, you will:

• Serve as a representative of Educate the City
• Demonstrate the ability to model and implement rich student-centered STEAM learning experiences
• Follow detailed lesson plans for both four week sessions
• Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the connection between science, technology, engineering, art and math
• Create a fun and safe learning environment
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
• Develop a positive rapport with staff and students
• Participate in weekly team meetings
• Capture photos and videos of lessons for social media content

Requirements

The MUST HAVES

• A teaching certification for grades Kindergarten-5th Grade and/or 6th-8th grade (not required for STEAM Assistant)
• A minimum of two years teaching experience
• Effective classroom management
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Honesty, integrity and commitment to confidentiality

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree required
